FAQs
What should my athlete bring?+
Athletes should bring their glove, bat, helmet, water bottle, and any catcher or pitching equipment they normally use. Because tryouts are held indoors at Top Tier Fieldhouse, athletes must wear turf shoes or tennis shoes. Steel and molded cleats are not permitted.
Which age group should my athlete try out for?+
Athletes should register according to the following birth-date ranges: 10U: Sept. 1, 2015 – Aug. 31, 2017 12U: Sept. 1, 2013 – Aug. 31, 2015 14U: Sept. 1, 2011 – Aug. 31, 2013 16U: Sept. 1, 2009 – Aug. 31, 2011 18U: Sept. 1, 2007 – Aug. 31, 2009 Teams are primarily separated by birth year and player development level.
How many tryouts should we attend?+
Athletes are welcome to attend multiple sessions. Additional evaluations help coaches make informed roster decisions and identify the best developmental fit for each athlete.
What happens during tryouts?+
Athletes will participate in skill evaluations including hitting, throwing, fielding, defensive work, position-specific evaluations, and competitive softball activities. Coaches evaluate both current ability and future developmental potential.
Is there a fee to attend tryouts?+
No. Pride Fastpitch organizational tryouts are free to attend.
What makes Pride different?+
Pride Fastpitch trains year-round out of Top Tier Fieldhouse in Shawnee. Athletes have access to indoor development opportunities throughout the year, helping build confidence, skill development, and long-term success both on and off the field.
What if my athlete cannot attend a scheduled tryout?+
